This is my design for an alternative concept Hansel costume for the opera of Hansel and Gretel. 

​After reading the original story of Hansel and Gretel in the Grimm’s fairy tale book I came up with the concept of, when Hansel and his sister were left in the forest to die of starvation, by his father and the woman, they found some berries to eat. In my story the berries have had a spell put on them by the witch in the forest which make them hallucinate and be in a dream like state, so my costume is showing how something normal has evolved into something that could be hallucinated such as the bright colours and the jabara arm.
